We made a form like this where students rate the book with stars and then give 3 words to describe the book. Feel free to make a copy and modify/use as needed!

I can't speak for the original poster, but they look like some frames that I obtained from IKEA a number of years ago. They don't appear to have them in stock now, but a search revealed some similar ones available through Amazon. I searched for "IKEA tabletop frames."

Unrelated- where did you get the tabletop sign holders that are holding the book covers? I've been looking for something like that!

Good Morning,
This year our theme is "Count your Caudills". (2 years ago it was "Catch a Caudill").

We have the students talk to us when they finish a title. We ask them about the book, maybe a question or 2. It's nice to have a face-to-face conversation about the book. After they finish the first book, we give them a paper book. They add their name, the sticker of which book they finished, then add it to our Caudill wall. It's great for them to be able to see what others have read. And, we can keep track of who has read at least 3 so they can vote in February. I've included a photo from this year and 2 years ago.

Have a great Thursday!
Patti

I do the Bluestem and Caudill with my 4-6th graders. I also use a Google form. They give a rating of 0-5 stars, then write 1 word to describe the book, 2 sentences about why they liked the book, and 3 of their favorite parts of the book. I have two large charts on the wall and they get a sticker by their name for each book they read. When they read three from a program, they get their name on the wall.
I currently don't do anything that involves sharing their critiques of the books, but I'd love some ideas!

Hi everyone!

Any ideas for creative ways to keep track of award (Monarch, Bluestem, Lincoln, etc.) books read? I'm thinking like a Sheet where they note what they read and maybe a rating out of 10, and then make a chart to show how they compare...but would love any creative ideas for how to keep track and also critique the books on their own.

Thanks in advance!
