[aisle] Manga/Anime Series Question

As to the rating for DemonSlayer, firstly you need to take into account the
cultural differences. The kind of violence presented is not as shocking to
Japanese parents/children. However, it is something we rarely see in
Children's and Middle School graphics. Take a look at this article:
https://www.staradvertiser.com/2021/05/06/news/demon-slayer-violence-draws-distinct-responses-in-u-s-japan/
That may help you to decide, even though it is talking about the video.

Younger-level manga is VERY difficult to vet. I feel your pain. No
Flying, No Tights, Common Sense Media, and SLJ's site (
https://blogs.slj.com/goodcomicsforkids/) are great places to go to find
ideas on age-appropriate materials. Here is something you might want to
check out from Library Thing https://www.librarything.com/topic/21292 It
is an older thread but has some good points.

Anime/Manga I have found for younger readers:
Most of the Studio Ghibli stuff is great. Splatoon is fun! Naruto is
mostly great. Dragon Ball Z is not--nudity, adult jokes, some adult
language. My Neighbor Seki is great. (SLJ Article:
https://blogs.slj.com/goodcomicsforkids/2015/01/30/review-my-neighbor-seki/)
Little Witch Academia is cute and fun!

Good luck! Let us know what you end up selecting! :)
