[aisle] Are there still middle school libraries?

I am the librarian for a Middle School library (5-8). I see every grade level once a week. So probably 500ish kids a week. We do lessons and book checkout. We have a strong support system which is a blessing.

I am very close to you in Spring Valley, IL. I am a librarian in a K-8 school and I still see junior high ELA classes for library lessons. They also come in every week for book checkout. So there is still another middle school library in your area!

She said she asked around our area and a lot of middle schools don't have "library time" anymore. She also stated that they would divide all the library books between the classrooms and encourage students to go to the public library. So, are middle school libraries still a thing? How many of you have thriving middle school libraries?
