[aisle] Battle of the Books - Pandemic Style -- Need Ideas!

I have adapted BOB so many times since the pandemic, but the recent
mask-optional situation has set my game back to "not happening." We were
going to gather in a multi-purpose room with kids being masked and socially
distanced. Now with so many kids not wearing masks, my admin doesn't want
93 kids in one room. Good call, in my opinion.

But this leaves me looking for ways to host this game without gathering the
kids as a whole group. Teams, yes. I've thought about having a Google
Meet game where small numbers of teams are socially distanced in
classrooms. My teachers don't want that.

Has anyone done this in small groups, sending the questions to the students
and having them submit answers on a Google form? If so, how did this
look? Did kids do this after school? In school?

I'm looking for ways to play this game and am feeling frustrated because I
feel like we've taken a step back -- rather than forward -- with the masks
coming off.

Thanks for any ideas you have!
