I second a button press from American<https://www.americanbuttonmachines.com/> Button Machines! The machine is affordable and the buttons are also affordable to keep in stock. I bought a 1.5in – it’s very sturdy and very popular with our high schoolers 😊

Not on Amazon, but I've had two machines from American Button Maker for years and they are SUPER sturdy. Plus you can also get an annual subscription to their website with them which makes it easy to format designs that you know will fit properly on the button size of your choice.
