[aisle] Sewn Book Character Project

Our junior high does this with our 1st graders. The 1st graders have a
story about monsters or shapes...I'm unclear on the details here...and then
the 1st graders DRAW a creature. That creature is what the junior high
students simplify and sew. I know that the sewn pieces are just 2 pieces
of felt for front and back, whipstitched, and stuffed with quilting
batting. It's remarkable how similar the "stuffie" is to the drawing and
the 1st graders are always thrilled. I could find out what book they are
using as inspiration if you are interested.
