I also heard about it during our Book Fair phone call, and asked them to
clarify. Not only does Scholastic charge a fuel surcharge, they will charge
more money if you sell more books (even if they do not need to ship more
books!). I asked my rep to explain and she was tripping over her
words trying to explain it to me, ending with "it's kind of complicated."
So during your call, be sure to ask them about the percentage that comes
out of your profits because it increases the more you sell. It also depends
on if you choose all books or a split between cash and books.
