<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">This is a great challenge. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">What about having the students look at materials like those about Banned Books on the ALA website, or We Need Diverse Books, or discussions of cultural misappropriation? Then ask some of those questions about the authors they are researching - do they write about things some people might find offensive, or inappropriate for students their age? Do they write about cultures they're not part of? Should they? Hello,<br>
A 7th grade writing teacher would like her students to do an author biography research project that includes an argumentative portion of writing. We have the books in the library to support the author research portion but she's trying to come up with a slant
on it to make it argumentative. She doesn't want them to just regurgitate information about their author. Any ideas?<br>
