<p class="MsoNormal">If you are in a high school and do something great for parent/teacher conferences, would you mind sharing? I don’t get a lot of traffic to the library on those nights, but would like to change that. I was successful this year in getting
some more traffic into the library during Open House. On Open House our parents follow their children’s schedules (7 minutes in “class” and 3 minute passing periods), so there wasn’t much time in the past for them to come to the library. This year, we asked
any parents of students who have a study hall in their schedule to report for the library for a brief presentation on library resources available to students. Parent/teacher conferences work differently since everything is by appointment, so I’m thinking of
setting up some technology stations with spheros, google cardboard, maybe a green screen photo booth, etc., and have my principal mention it in his letter to parents that scheduling is open. I will probably have my presentation from Open House scrolling on
one of the screens in the library, too. I would love to hear what others have done that was successful in getting parents into their space.
