<div dir="ltr">I am in a small elementary school library but I have done kind of a hybrid. I have left all the Dewey spine labels as they are, but then divided the books into some broad categories, identified with a sticker and a sign. For some areas, like "Animals" there is no change. In some cases however I moved books into a more logical location for my students. For example, I have a group labeled as "Astronomy." In this category I have all of the 500s about space and planets, etc., but ALSO all of the 600s that deal with spaceships and rockets etc. Same with "United States." Since I am only K-5, I have moved all of my 300s dealing with immigration and suffrage for example into the United States division.
