<div dir="ltr">I'm not middle school/elementary, but I'd co-sign what Jeanne said. I've recommended <i>Drum Roll, Please</i> to some high schoolers, and even for them, it was an important book since it depicted a (somewhat) positive coming out experience for a 13-year-old. I think a story about coming out at age 13 should be for ages 11 and up (younger if they express an interest in LGBT stories/coming out stories).
