<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif">This week I'm doing a virtual lesson teaching how to check out e-books from the public library (ies). In presenter mode, I take them to the District website where we have a link to the student virtual learning 'hub'. From there, there are links to get to the libraries (kids in our school district are in 3 different library districts 😁). So I take them to the one most of them are in, and walk through searching for a book in their catalog, and searching in Overdrive, Hoopla and Illinois Digital, which are the apps that library has. We talk about downloading the book to their Chromebooks, and using the Chromebook like a tablet. We also talk about holds. In addition, our libraries are offering virtual library cards, until people can come in to get a hard copy. Some of the libraries are doing curbside pickup, and we talk about that. Has anyone found any good simpler k-4 lessons already done for library remote learning. Remember these are art and music teachers that will be doing my lessons simultaneously. I need help especially with the Google classroom stuff. Came home crying today....so overwhelmed with this surprise schedule that was just explained. Any help would be so appreciated.
