<div dir="ltr">I run a book club at RBHS and some years it's really popular, and some years it isn't. This year is a popular one (about 10 students at each meeting). At our first meeting, I asked them what they'd like the book club to be: we all read the same book (or a choice of 2), we all read on the same topic/theme/genre, or we read what we like and talk about those. We have done 2 group reads already and have 1 left before the end of the semester. The students choose the book(s), but I guide them on choices, so we've started with reading books from the Lincoln Award nominees to start.<div><br></div><div>It's been fun so far this year, with so many voices and opinions! <i>The Fault in Our Stars</i> by John Green we focused on Childhood Cancer Awareness and collected pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities, collected and donated toys for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, Pennies for Patients, etc. </div>
