I wrote ‘Get hooked on a good book this summer’ and added the one large orange fish and hook. I crowd sourced the rest of the fish by having students fill out the ‘title’ and ‘author’ of their book suggestion. Once they were done decorating their fish, they would turn them in for me to add to the bulletin board. This turned out to be even more successful than I anticipated. on several instances I would go out in the hall and find kids writing titles down in their notebooks for later. <p class="MsoNormal">I did a fun one of “short” stories – as in skinny books, and decorated the table with pairs of shorts. Sign says “Check out these shorts!” Kids seem to like it since there’s not a lot of time left to start a big fat novel.<o:p></o:p></p>
