<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The right to read has been in the news quite a bit during the recent Banned Books week.  Our fall forum will look at multiple facets of literacy, as well as delve into the threats to limit our access

 to it. From the increased challenges to books (see the recent PEN report attached) to the decline of school libraries in Chicago and in low-income communities nationally (see the attached piece from the Sun-Times), the right to read is being constricted. 

 How will this impact students, educators, parents and all citizens? We think these are critical questions, especially in a time of disinformation, and increased polarization in our society!</span><span></span></div><p style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-variant-caps:normal;text-align:start;word-spacing:0px">
