The Rex & Higgins' ones are great for younger elementary & upper elementary would do really well with Sharon Draper's Out Of My Mind with a 5th grade main character.</div>

Unless the teacher is very set on it, I would try to steer them away from Wonder. Palacio admitted that she never bothered talking to anyone with severe facial deformities before or during her writing of Wonder so I don't think it's the best choice for a good
portrayal. If they refuse, a passage from either his first day or when he's in his Halloween costume & hears the other kids talking about him would be clear & succinct examples.</div>

Is the teacher looking for mentor texts? Would Schools First Day of School by Adam Rex work? It's a picture book but it talks about how the school feels with multiple situations. Other titles with similar themes:</div>
