<div dir="ltr">You may not want my input because we are a district with no Media Specialist. All Libraries are run by IAs - 6 K-5 buildings and 1 Large Middle School. We are part of the problem, I know! I definitely agree with the need for a real librarian.<div><br></div><div>At my school, Library is not part of the building schedule. My building consists of 6 special ed self-contained classrooms, as well as, 2 of each grade (K-5). We've always had all-day kindergarten and they begin school just with storytime but eventually work up to checking out 3 books based on successful returns.</div><div><br></div><div>I see each class 1 time a week for 25-30 minutes based on teacher preference. At the beginning of the year, I ask teachers to submit 2-3 preferences for library time. I like to have time to process books so I ask that the times start at about 9:15.
