[ISLMA-Share] Problems with Cover Images in Follett

I called Follett about this just a couple of weeks ago. This is what I was told…

This was a deliberate decision by Follett to save space on servers. Depending on the size of your collection, having an image for every book could take up a huge chunk of space so instead, the catalog will download the book cover only upon request. Unfortunately, that means that we only see it on the second click because downloading and displaying all the covers in one go would make searching take a lot longer. The images are held on the server but if they aren’t called up again they will eventually get overwritten by other title covers that are called up. 

It would be nice if we were given the choice, an option that we could turn on to save all covers that are requested.

So, when I have free time (HA!) or come across one with no image, I find an image and attach it using the IMAGE option on the book's record.
