[ISLMA-Share] Fall Inventory

Since I became a solo librarian -- they took my assistant away -- I've not
done inventory at all. When I analyzed the information I got from doing an
inventory, I decided it was information that I didn't need. I already know
which books are checked out or lost. The inventory tells me which books are
missing. But I didn't really do anything with that information. As the
year goes on and I couldn't find a book, I'd mark it missing. But
otherwise, what difference does that make?

What IS important is getting the shelves in order. Last year I did this
after school got out. Big mistake. Right before school started, they had
to empty and move a big section of shelving. They didn't tell me, and the
books were not kept in order, so I had a huge task at the beginning of the
year getting everything sorted out again. So, I think I'll wait until
right before school starts to run the shelves this year.

Just my two cents....
