[ISLMA-Share] High School Summer Reading

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with a high school summer reading program that
has been successful with most students and supported by faculty? Our
district has had a summer reading requirement for students for many years
now, and it has been revised several times (we've done everything from an
assigned title for each grade level, to one book-one school, and students
choice from a list of many titles. We have also had varied assessments
through the years.

What have you done that has been fairly successful? How were students held
accountable? What, if any, assessment was given? Who graded the
assessments, and where was the grade recorded?

Any suggestions you can send my way are appreciated!
