We've used Noodletools for 6 years--we're very happy with it and with the
updates for Google apps and for mobile devices. Our English department, a
Science teacher with APA, and the CNA teacher use it, to various degrees.

Pros--Agree with all the Pros mentioned previously! It's quite affordable.
It interfaces with Google for Education.

   - Teachers like interactive features where projects are shared with
teacher so can see progress, can see original quoted material and
student's paraphrase to assess who needs to review notetaking/paraphrasing.
We had to drop TurnItIn due to price increases, so are counting more on
seeing writing process/paraphrasing work in notecards this year.
   - Teachers like that notecards are not left at home or spilled all over
   hallway.
   - It has great tech support and MLA consulting support.
   - We have 1:1 ipads, & students work on Noodletools with their ipads in
classrooms and study hall. But especially with the outline, and for
printing, most classes prefer the computer labs or the Chromebooks

Cons:

   - It has a learning curve, but less now that Google Docs is more
   familiar to students.
      - We teach the Works Cited page at Freshman level, add notecards for
      soph/jr projects.
      - Transfer students have to do a little catch up.
      - Although a project may go slower at the beginning, from teaching
how to use the software as well as how to do the project, we make up time
at the end when it's so easy to export the Works Cited page.

Before we went to the Google sign-in, I could see our graduates had logged
in during summer after graduation, to use for college classes, so that
speaks to them finding it useful. I highly recommend trying Noodletools.
We made a one-page handout to start students out-- if it would be helpful
to you to see it, please email me off the list.
