Good Morning,
We had a terrific turnout on Saturday morning in 9 multiple locations for the ESSA workshop led by AASL. Participants learned more about ESSA and its implications for school libraries. Many thanks to AASL, RAILS and Heartland Library Systems, ILA, as well as Jacob Roskovensky and Deb Turner who worked with all these groups to organize these meetings. Check out #ESSALibraries on Twitter for some of the action/discussion in Illinois as well as Georgia and Indiana.

We also have 4 ISBE ESSA listening tour meetings happening this week: today in Lockport, tomorrow in Chicago and East St. Louis, and Wednesday in Streamwood. There is still time to sign up and attend. If you sign up, you'll receive talking points emailed to you directly. There is also a final meeting in Sycamore next week Oct. 5. Go to http://tinyurl.com/jjqnf8t to sign up to attend. You can also just show up. The ISLMA Policy points/talking points are posted on our ESSA webpage: http://www.islma.org/ESSA.htm

Thanks, and have a great week!
