We have been selling coffee, hot chocolate and three kinds of cappuccinos
for three years. Occasionally, I purchase apple cider or pumpkin spice
cappuccino in the fall. We also charge $1.00 and don't make that much. I
also watch the sales and try to purchase K-cups that are below $.50.
Recently, I bought my french vanilla and caramel cappuccino k-cups through
Amazon because our local Walmart no longer sells the brand we were using.
I buy my cups from Sam's and usually buy two packages of cups and 1 box of
lids. I use the Dixie 12 oz.To-Go cups which has 176 cups in a package and
a box of lids which has 1,000. The To-Go cups are insulated so the kids
are not burning their fingers. I guess I could charge more, but they all
seem to be able to come up with a dollar.
My students love having the coffee bar and so do the faculty members. It
gets them in the library because many find books to check out while they're
waiting. Also, I do a punch card. If they purchase 10 beverages, then the
11th one is free.
