[ISLMA-Share] Picture books for Junior High Library

All of those reasons and more. When I was a classroom teacher, I used Chris Van Allsburg’s books to teach writing traits and reading strategies. Picture books can also be used to teach literary elements and elements of story, they can be used as model texts for the students’ own writing, and as lead ins for social studies content, science content, math content, and more. Some picture books are geared toward older students, and aren’t appropriate for younger kids.
