The Illinois Reads lists (there are 7(?) years so far) are a good place to
start. Try:
http://illinoisreads.org/
https://illinois.scbwi.org (the Society of Children's Book Writers and
Illustrators)
https://illinois.scbwi.org/read-local/ (a group specific to Illinois
authors,)
http://www.illinoisauthors.org/ (from the Illinois State Library and The
Center for the Book, a directory of Illinois authors (past and present,
though not all are still in IL)
