[aisle] abe book dilemma

Hello Braintrust,

I have a good student who has completed the Abe challenge (reading all 20
books) for the last 3 years. She's a senior and is a good kid. She came to
me today telling me she didn't want to read Only Child because it was
triggering for her (about the school shooting). I'm pretty strict about
kids reading all 20 Abe books if they want the reward, but I'm wondering
what you would do in this situation. She is not an overly emotional
student, but this student began crying in front of me, something I've never
seen her do, becuase the book made her so scared of a potential school
shooting in her brother's school. So, I have an idea what I might do, but I
wondered if you had any suggestions or past experience with this.

Thanks,
Brooke Nelson

ps. thanks for the previous recs for the library messengers situation.
