We cancelled EBSCO several years ago, so I can't speak to its
thoroughness. I like Gale products and it's features/depth. We subscribe
to Opposing Viewpoints, Ebooks (which may be the way you want to go to
support specific elements of your curriculum. Articles are embeddable into
web pages, Google Classroom, Schoology, etc.), Research in Context,
Biography in Context, Gale OneFile News. FactCite is also a good support
tool for your middle schoolers.

My rep is: *Farrar, Allison M., allison.farrar at cengage.com
