He also served as AASL Interim Executive Director. Don served in many different positions on the Board of Directors for the International Association of School Librarianship, passionately traveling internationally with his wife Joann. In 2015 he was named an Illinois Library Association Library Luminary Honoree. AISLE and all Illinois School Librarians honor Don for his work advocating and supporting school libraries. He will be missed.
