[aisle] Do you give report card grades for Library visits?

No grades for library at Stevenson Middle School, Maywood/Melrose Park/Broadview, District 89.

I have co-taught and gave points using the project rubric which was totaled and assigned a grade.  If this is part of a long-term process over 6 weeks, I can use that growth as my student growth on my evaluation.

Most of the time I use a self-assessment to show student growth over a 6 week time period.

Even though we do not give official grades, I like to use unofficial assessment in the library to motivate students to keep focused and see their progress.  This could be as simple as giving a check mark for identifying fiction and non-fiction correctly, bringing their book back, following library procedures, with a reward of a special bookmark instead of a grade or extra time to just sit and read.
