[aisle] prizes

3 years ago I asked Portillo's if they'd donate chocolate cake coupons and
I'm still using them. They probably gave me 1000. I just write the
student's name on it and hand it over. If they don't like cake they can
get a fruit cup instead. We also do reading incentive prizes at the end of
the year. We raffle off prizes to anyone that participated in any reading
incentive program throughout the year. Prior to Covid we'd take kids to
see a play at Drury Lane. Now we give away a handful of Target gift
cards. Last year I was able to purchase a huge chunk of books from First
Book (if your school is low income). We gave away books as raffle prizes
to 60 kids and kept the rest for the library. We're lucky we have a very
supportive PTA. They give us $1000 for reading incentives every year. The
only stipulation is that everyone gets a chance or gets the benefits.
