[aisle] advocacy for a higher book budget

Hello,

I’m sure everyone else will bring up some phenomenal points, but I want to bring up the cost of replacing lost and damaged books. In my district (and I’m sure many others), we don’t see the money students pay for these items, but we’re still expected to replace them.

I would also suggest bringing concrete numbers. How old is your collection? What exactly do you want to make better? It’s difficult to think about things in abstract but much easier when you say, “the average age of our science books is X years. To make them more current, I need $X. This means I can buy this list of X books.”

Good luck!

Hi,

Can you please share some advocacy points and data about why I need a higher budget for books to serve my students?

Thank you for any help.
