My book group is meeting today to discuss The Truth Project by Dante Medema. I had two students come in over the last few weeks to tell me how much they enjoyed the book… that is NOT something that usually happens.

Plus it’s in verse/email/texts so it can be a fairly quick read.

I also personally love The Field Guide to the North American Teacher, which hits the boxes you’ve listed.

Subject: [aisle] HS Book Club Group Reads?

Good morning!

My book club is interested in doing one last group read before the end of the year, and they didn't have any ideas. So I'm looking for some suggestions that have worked for you. The only parameters I got from them were: no nonfiction, horror, or suspense; something kind of happy (not all depressing throughout the whole book); and preferably diverse characters and/or author.

My book clubbers are generally big readers, and their favorites from this past Lincoln Award list were Stepsister and We Are Not From Here.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!
