Because students must have a pass to be in our hallways, they have to get a
pass to visit the library during their study hall. We're 1:1 so it's mostly
the environment that pulls them in, not necessarily the resources. In the
past, we prompted teachers to only write passes if the students NEEDED to
be in the library, but we do not do that anymore.

The only problem periods are the lunch periods as we get both kids from
lunch and kids from study hall - it's crazy in here. We're toying with the
idea of only permitting study hall students during those periods if they
need to be here for a specific assignment, but I'm struggling to decide if
that's fair/ best practice.

We do require students to stay the entire period - they can only leave on
bells.

Contact me with any follow-up questions. I feel your pain.
