[aisle] SLO - librarians exempt?

In communication with ISBE because of our district admin telling building admin that librarians were exempt which the librarians didn’t believe to be true, this was the reply that I received in September.

Part 50 does not mention school librarian as school support personnel.  Thus, it would appear that this position is NOT exempt from the student growth component.

That being said, our district has gone to the all in model of SLOs, so our district’s Joint Committee will set our district growth goals and collect the data from testing to determine our proficiency level. All teachers will get the same level in their evaluation. Individual teachers will not be doing individual SLOs anymore. I can’t really answer questions because I don’t know much more about it that, but your committee working with SLOs could look into it.

I believe your PERA committee + admin decide the exemptions. I am not exempt. For our summative evaluation score, we use 50% professional practice (evaluation) and 50% student growth. For the student growth portion, my SLO is 50% and MAP scores are 50%.
