Many years ago I worked at a public library and we wrote a grant bringing
therapy dogs into our 2 grade schools. It was awesome but be aware of
allergies etc. for liability. We targeted a grade level to get to read to
them, I think it was 2nd grade. If you are letting everyone come, how will
you make sure you are covered for liability and dander stays in the carpets
etc. If you have kids who are highly allergic they will be exposed from the
dander after the program that is left on your carpets etc.. You might want
to think about doing it outside at a later date since you're in a school.
Please know I am a huge dog lover but see some potential issues that could
affect a school.
